Will There Be A Sixth Season Of Prison Break?
According to Deadline, the original network Fox has decided not to air any further episodes of the show Prison Break after Dominic Purcell and Miller walked away from their roles in the series. As a result, there will not be a sixth season of the show. Nevertheless, in May of 2017, the CEO of the FOX TV group, Dana Walden, stated that the network has plans to release some additional episodes.
And on December 12th, 2017, Purcell made the announcement that production on the sixth season of Prison Break has begun. On January 4, 2018, the president of Fox Entertainment, Michael Thorn, made the announcement that a new adaptation was in the preliminary stages of development and that Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller would not be a part of the cast. In addition to this, on March 12, 2018, Paul T. Scheuring announced on his Twitter account that the writing for season 6 was finished.
Additionally, in February 2019, Purcell provided additional confirmation that the production of the show was still ongoing. However, in August of 2019, Charlie Collier, the CEO of Fox, revealed that the company had no plans to release Prison Break season 6 and that they had indeed officially canceled the series. Why Was Prison Break Season 6 Canceled?
It is believed that the departure of Miller and Wentworth from the cast of the show's sixth season was the primary factor in the decision to cancel the show. Additionally, as the story had already been concluded, the show does not require another season. There were some fans who thought the fifth season was garbage, and because of this, it's probably for the best that there won't be any more seasons.
Some fans are relieved, while the majority of fans are disheartened by the news that their favorite suspense mystery drama series will not be renewed for additional seasons and that they must now say goodbye to the series.
However, there is no need to be concerned because Netflix is producing another series that is analogous to Prison Break and belongs to the same genre. If you enjoyed Prison Break, you should find out when the ninth season of Wentworth will be released because the show is just as interesting as the one you have just finished watching.
